Rancho Santa Margarita Offers 10% Trash Discount for Eligible Residents Over 65

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA — CALIFORNIA58 LOCAL REPORT. Rancho Santa Margarita’s waste service terms say customers older than 65 who pay CR&R directly can request a 10% senior discount on qualifying waste-collection service.

Who should inquire

The discount is aimed at older residents who are directly responsible for their trash account. It is not a universal reduction on every rental property’s water, sewer or electricity bill.

How to request the rate

The city advises eligible residents to contact CR&R customer service at 877-728-0446 and ask staff what proof of age or billing responsibility they need. The discount may not apply before the request is processed.

Other free account services

Residential customers may request additional recycling and green-waste containers under the city program’s limits, with different rules and charges for extra refuse containers. Confirm the current billing categories.
